The musical project JATT was founded by Darren Evans in 2012. The sounds are grounded in Evans’ drumming and percussion background, evolving into expansive soundscapes and creative musical exploration.
Listeners experience the textures and harmonies from the heart beat of the drums to the depths of synthesisers, guitar, piano, strings and vocals.
The musicians performing for JATT are long-time collaborators, including renown artists Jeff Martin (The Tea Party), Ollie McGill (The Cat Empire), Rick Fenn (10CC) and Maurice Cernigoi. Coming from a broad array of styles, Evans and the musicians create a unique and forceful creative sound.

Darren Evans musical career started as a drummer and percussionist for various artists, with his latest work on Jeff Martin’s album “The Seven Deadly Sins”.
His passion for music and need for creative expression have led him to create his own musical project JATT in 2012 which has catapulted Evans into becoming singer, songwriter and producer of his own songs. The quality of his long-term friendships and collaborations he gained and maintained over the years as a drummer / percussionist and solo artist are reflected in the depths and sounds of JATT.

The creative partnership between JATT and pianist Ollie McGill, solo artist and founding member of The Cat Empire, spawned in the late 2000’s.
McGill brings a wealth of musical expertise and timeless expression. His piano and synth work on JATT recordings add an invaluable layer of texture, harmony and emotion to the artistic vision.

The deep musical friendship between Martin and Evans began about 15 years ago during recording sessions of Pete Murray’s “Blue Sky Blue” album at 301 Studios.
Jeff Martin, solo artist and founding member of The Tea Party, has significantly influenced JATT with his unique guitar tones and distinctive sound. The artists have collaborated and worked together on numerous projects with an undeniable musical connection and tension. Jeff has contributed as a musician and producer to JATT’s musical journey.

Maurice Cernigoi’s technical precision and genius musical intuition as a bass player make him an essential part of JATTs resonant, dynamic sound.
His works range from subtle bass lines to powerful, driving, and creative rhythms providing groove and emotional weight.
